in india 260 million dalits live today.
among the women population of india 16.3% are dalits. one in every 12 indians.
five lakh villages are there in india.
every day 13 dalits are murdered, five homes burnt, six kidnapped/abducted, 13 women are raped. this is apart from the unreported crimes.
is it not time that we started thinking about these atrocities perpetrated on a section of our own society and do something to arrest such cruelties.
